Is There Anywhere to Eat With Kids at COEX?

Mo Bak-sa Budae-jjigae, on COEX Mall’s basement level, is a certified restaurant recognized as one of COEX’s excellent businesses. Budae-jjigae runs 11,500 won per person, and the bulgogi set is 19,000 won. Being inside COEX Mall, it’s easy to get to, and there are high chairs.

How Much Does the Menu Cost at Mo Bak-sa Budae-jjigae?

Menu prices are as follows. Extras: omurice 8,000 won, assorted pan-fried dishes (jeon) 6,000 won, sausage add-in 5,000 won.

How’s the Budae-jjigae?

The budae-jjigae comes standard with spam and ramyeon noodles (Nongshim). It’s cooked at the table on an induction burner. You get 4 side dishes, and rice is ordered separately. There’s plenty of broth, enough that adding the ramyeon noodles didn’t run it dry. The flavor is about average for a chain-style budae-jjigae. For the price, inside COEX, it’s not bad.

What About the Bulgogi Set?

The 19,000-won bulgogi set arrives in a stone pot, with rice, side dishes, and bulgogi. It was easy for the kids to share. The portion is sized for one adult, so if two kids are splitting it, it may run a little short.

How Is It Bringing Two Kids?

With a high chair available, we could seat our younger child too. Since the table has an induction burner, you need to watch that little hands can’t reach it. Our older child ate the bulgogi well, and we mixed a bit of broth into our second child’s rice. The noise level in the restaurant was moderate, so it wasn’t stressful even when the kids got a little loud. One downside: if a child sits right in front of the induction burner, boiling stew can splash. You need to think carefully about seating.
