Olive Young × Sanrio Characters City Log — Ends September 30
The Sanrio Characters collab, with 321 products from 81 brands, ends on September 30. Its packaging paired Sanrio characters with local specialties from 12 regions, including Gangneung, Gongju, Busan and Jeonju. The gifts with purchase for each spending tier (a regional Hello Kitty fan, and Hello Kitty containers in a school uniform or hanbok) are limited, so they stop once they run out.
🆕 ‘OY CITY’, 1F of Olive Young N Seongsu — The hands-on pop-up ‘OLIVE YOUNG CITY TOUR’ runs until September 30, 10:00–22:00. There’s the ‘OY City Tour Bus’ where you steer an RC car, the ‘Olive Playlist’ where you collect stamps by tapping NFC tags around the store, and a photo booth whose AI kiosk picks the character that suits you.
👶 Kid tip: Kids especially love the stamp hunt and the RC cars. If you’re going to be around Seongsu on the last weekend, it’s worth stopping by.
Worth Trying in October — ‘Skin Scan’ Skin Analysis in the App
On September 15, Olive Young added a mobile skin analysis feature to its app. It brings ‘Skin Scan’, which used to work only on dedicated in-store devices, to your phone. After a short questionnaire, you take a photo of your face or choose one you already have, and AI analyzes your skin type plus pores, pigmentation, hydration, oil and wrinkles item by item. It then suggests products for your concerns and a routine from cleansing to sun care.
You can get to it through the ‘Skin Scan’ icon on the app’s home screen or in the ‘Olive Young Store’ tab at the bottom. The launch discount and the free in-store trial kit end on September 30, but the analysis itself stays available. Olive Young says it will add a ‘skin change report’ and personal color analysis step by step within the year. Skin tends to act up when the seasons change, and checking it once before you shop makes it much easier to decide what to buy.

Most of the top spots are moisturizing and barrier creams and sheet masks. With the air getting drier, demand seems to be shifting toward hydration.
Must-Have K-Beauty Best Sellers for Foreign Visitors
Skincare that foreign tourists at Olive Young keep buying includes the Torriden DIVE-IN Serum, Mediheal sheet masks and Biodance masks. On the makeup side, the CLIO Kill Cover cushion and the Whoo cushion glass are the long-running favorites.
In autumn, PDRN (an ingredient derived from salmon DNA) and barrier products built on cica and panthenol come up a lot. As the gap between daytime and nighttime temperatures grows, more people look for products that soothe and hydrate at the same time.
