I thought there was still plenty of time before Halloween,
but when I checked Daiso Mall, the LED bracelets and shadow flashlights
were already marked “temporarily sold out.”
If your kid’s daycare has sent out a Halloween party notice,
it’s probably worth grabbing things this week.
Besides Halloween, the mornings and evenings are getting chilly,
and winter items like hand warmers and fuzzy socks are now in.
Here are 5 picks that are actually useful for families with kids.
* Prices are what I checked on Daiso Mall on October 10. In-store stock varies by branch.
1. Mini Halloween Pumpkin Baskets
Pack of 4 for 1,000 won
Just the right size for a little hand when going around for candy.
There are 4 in a pack, so siblings can each have one.
Also worth a look
· Pumpkin LED headband 2,000 won
· Witch hat headband 2,000 won
· LED shadow lamp 3,000 won

2. Crayon Shin-chan Hand Warmer Pouch + Heat Packs
1,000 won each (heat packs come in 2s)
For kids whose hands get cold on the way to daycare,
a Shin-chan warmer might be the thing they actually want to bring along.
The hand-warmer heat packs are 2 for 1,000 won, easy to keep one in each bag.
3. Animal-Print Fuzzy Socks
1,000 won
Nine new styles of fuzzy socks just came in.
Animal prints and snowflake patterns are all 1,000 won,
and nothing was sold out yet, so now is the easiest time to pick.

4. Crayon Shin-chan Fabric Storage Box
5,000 won (both about 33L and 66L)
Handy when you’re packing away summer clothes.
The pajama Shin-chan design is 33L and the Shin-chan and Shiro design is 66L,
and even though one is twice the size, the price is the same.
5. Tobot V Lightning Robot
5,000 won
If your kid loves robots, this price is hard to walk past.
It works well as a birthday party favor or a reward for a full sticker chart.
No Daiso sale this week either
Daiso sells at fixed prices, so there are hardly ever discount events.
That said, if you pay over 30,000 won with Toss Pay on Daiso Mall, you get 1,000 won off right away.
(Until October 31. Doesn’t apply to in-store payments.)
The October week 3 new arrivals should be up soon,
and I’ll round those up too when they’re out.
