Looking for Han River Park events to go to with kids in October? Start here. The Bitseom light festival on Nodeul Island opens Oct 2, the autumn sports day at Ttukseom runs Oct 3–5, and drone light shows follow on Oct 9 and Oct 31. Jamsu Bridge (Sundays) and Reading Han River Park in Yeouido (Saturdays) happen every week. Most of it is free.
Here is our roundup of October events at Han River Park. With the National Foundation Day and Hangeul Day holidays falling this month, there is a lot to choose from: sports games and an outdoor library during the day, light festivals and drone shows at night. We have focused on the ones that work well with kids.
🎆 Seoul Light Han River Bitseom Festival

💬 A waterside laser art festival that uses the Han River as its stage. It has three parts: the laser art itself, Donghaeng Light (Oct 9–11, 19:30–20:30), and the Bitseom Lecture talks. You can see it while strolling around Nodeul Island, so it is a good pick for kids who love lights. Check the full program on the Bitseom Festival website.
🚶 Car-Free Jamsu Bridge Walking Festival
📅 Dates: 2026.09.06 ~ 10.25, every Sunday 14:00–22:00 (8 weeks in the second half of the year)
🚗 Road closure: Every Sunday 12:00–24:00, the whole of Jamsu Bridge
📍 Location: Jamsu Bridge and Banpo Han River Park (about 1.1 km from the north end of the bridge to Dalbit Plaza at the south end)
💰 Fee: Free (some food trucks, handicrafts and craft workshops are paid)

💬 October’s theme is “Taste, Shine and Unwind on Autumn Nights.” The program changes every week.
- Oct 4 (Sun) Jamsu Bridge Food Road 14:00–22:00 — about 100 food trucks and 800 outdoor seats
- Oct 11 (Sun) Moonlit Jamsu Bridge 19:00–22:00 — media art projected onto the ceiling of Jamsu Bridge and the structure of Banpo Bridge
- Oct 18 (Sun) Jamsu Bridge Refresh Day 17:00–20:00 — sunset yoga and stretching (sign up in advance on the official website)
- Oct 25 (Sun) Season Finale — program to be announced
Running every week: a 5.2 m giant bouncy castle called Ttuttu Bounce (뚜뚜 바운스), Naktabong Canvas (낙타봉 캔버스), a huge drawing sheet laid out on the road, 30 food trucks, and handmade goods stalls. The official guide also recommends public transit (Express Bus Terminal Station on Lines 3, 7 and 9; Sinbanpo or Dongjak Station on Line 9).
🏃 Hangang PlPl Autumn Sports Day
📅 Dates: 2026.10.03 (Sat) ~ 10.05 (Mon), 10:00–22:00
📍 Location: Hangang PlPl (한강플플) in Ttukseom Han River Park, indoor floors 1 and 3, and under Cheongdam Bridge
💰 Fee: Free (some craft activities 2,000 KRW)
👶 Who: All ages (only the “PlPl Dream Team” obstacle time trial is for ages 14 and up)
💬 Kids can drop in on outdoor games like bursting the gourd ball, mission hula hoops and shoe tossing, plus indoor curling, limbo, color-board flipping and a cup-stacking relay. The 50 m obstacle course is open to everyone until 16:00. From 13:00 to 20:00 there are crafts that change by day (Oct 3 mood lamps, Oct 4 suncatchers, Oct 5 pressed-flower bookmarks) and face painting. Indoor programs end at 20:00.
🚁 Han River Lights Drone Light Show (Second Half)
📅 Dates: 2026.10.09 (Fri), 10.31 (Sat)
🕙 Schedule: Live performances 19:30–20:30 → Drone light show 20:30–20:45 → Live performances 20:45–21:15
📍 Location: Ttukseom Han River Park
💰 Fee: Free (watch from anywhere around the park)
💬 On Oct 31 there is a Marvel-themed special show with 2,000 drones. Traffic gets very heavy on show days, so the official advice is to come by subway and use different nearby stations on the way home. Plans can change for rain or strong wind, so check the official website before you head out.
📚 2026 Reading Han River Park (Second Half)
📅 Dates: 2026.09.12 ~ 10.31, every Saturday
📍 Location: Multi Plaza, Yeouido Han River Park

💬 An outdoor library with up to 500 seats, including a giant picnic-mat zone and reading benches. The play zone has big bounce houses, a ball pit and tube rolling, and this year they added tactile books for babies and toddlers for the first time. Special programs on October Saturdays:

💬 Registration for the distance and flight-time contests (preschool through adult divisions) has already closed. But anyone can join the event matches, watch the competition and try the hands-on activities on the day.

💬 Seoul’s cultural event listings show it being held on Nodeul Island. Check the lineup, ticket prices and any age limits on the official website.
🌙 Han River Night View Tour (Final Week)
📅 Dates: 2026.08.28 ~ 10.03, every Friday and Saturday 19:00–20:30 — in October only Oct 2 (Fri) and Oct 3 (Sat) are left
📍 Routes: Banpo Moonlight Trail (Banpo Han River Park) / Yeoui Starlight Trail (Yeouido Han River Park)

💬 Apply on the Hangang Story Tour website at least 5 days before the date you want; participants are chosen by lottery. It is a 90-minute walking course, and the organizers suggest comfortable sneakers and a jacket.
🌈 Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain
📅 Season: April ~ October (stops when wind is 7 m/s or stronger, or when rain is forecast)

📍 Location: Banpo Han River Park (Express Bus Terminal Station, Lines 3/7/9)

💬 A 1,140 m bridge fountain running along both sides of Banpo Bridge. October is its last month of the year. Other Han River fountains take Mondays off, but the Rainbow Fountain runs on Mondays too.
👶 Kid tip: The evening shows get the best reaction from kids. Spray can blow over depending on the wind, so bring a waterproof jacket. On Sundays it pairs well with the Jamsu Bridge festival.
🚲 Han River Bike Path — Riding a Ttareungyi Bike

💬 The Han River bike path is perfect for riding with kids in the cool autumn weather. On event days the areas around the venues get crowded, so it is easier to ride on stretches where nothing is going on.

About 100 food trucks gather for the Jamsu Bridge Food Road on Oct 4 (Sun), and on every Sunday of the Jamsu Bridge festival 30 food trucks are there as regulars. The Hangang PlPl Autumn Sports Day at Ttukseom (Oct 3–5) also has food trucks and a flea market.
What can kids do at Han River Park?
In October, good options for kids are Reading Han River Park in Yeouido (Saturdays, with bounce houses and a ball pit), the Hangang PlPl Autumn Sports Day at Ttukseom (Oct 3–5), and the Ttuttu Bounce on Jamsu Bridge (Sundays).
