What is V-SQUARE?
A dedicated character-popup space on the 3rd floor of Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance. It combines a collab café, merchandise sales, and a photo zone, with the featured IP (anime or game characters) changing every month. It’s a 3-minute walk from Konkuk University Station Exit 2.
Since opening in the second half of 2025, it has steadily hosted popular IP popups including One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Spy × Family. The space isn’t huge, but the lineup changes monthly, so repeat visits are common. Admission is free (café use and merchandise buys are separate). Elementary-age kids around 10 tend to enjoy it most.

What about parking near the Kondae popup?
- Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance (V-SQUARE) — use the Lotte Cinema parking lot. Discounted with a movie ticket, roughly 3,000 won per hour
- Lotte Department Store Konkuk — 1–3 hours free depending on buy amount
- Konkuk University Station public parking lot — 500 won per 10 minutes
Getting there: Right at Konkuk University Station Exit 2, so the subway is the most convenient option.
What to eat after the popup? Nearby route ideas
Route A (half day):
- V-SQUARE popup (30–40 min) → lunch at Lotte Department Store’s food court → browse Common Ground (10-min walk)
Route B (full day):
- V-SQUARE popup → restaurants on Konkuk Rodeo Street → Children’s Grand Park (one subway stop, free admission, zoo and rides)
Common Ground: A shipping-container shopping mall with plenty of photo spots and a mix of cafés and restaurants. A 10-minute walk from Kondae — worth a quick stop before or after the popup.
Children’s Grand Park: One subway stop from Konkuk University Station (Line 7, Children’s Grand Park Station). Free admission, with a zoo, botanical garden, and rides (separate fees). A solid full-day outing with kids.
Tips for visiting the Kondae popup
- Opening-day strategy: Lines start forming before 10 AM on the first day of a popular popup. If you’re after limited merchandise, weekday mornings are your best bet.
- Payment: V-SQUARE accepts both cash and card. Collab café drinks are only sold in person (not available via delivery apps).
- Strollers & luggage: The aisles inside V-SQUARE aren’t very wide. Bring a stroller folded, or leave it near the Lotte Cinema entrance. There’s no dedicated luggage storage, so pack light.
- Meals: There’s a café and convenience store on the 1st floor of Lotte Cinema Konkuk, and the food court (floors 9–10) at Lotte Department Store Konkuk in the same building. Konkuk Rodeo Street nearby is packed with restaurants.
- Photos: Photo zone waits usually run 5–10 minutes, longer on weekend afternoons. Shooting without flash tends to give better colors.
- Restrooms & nursing rooms: Restrooms are on the 3rd floor of Lotte Cinema; cross over to Lotte Department Store for a nursing room and diaper-changing station.
Popups often run social media (Instagram/X) photo events during their run — post with the hashtag and you may get a small giveaway like a photo card or sticker, so check the in-store signage.
Konkuk University Entrance is a Line 2/Line 7 transfer station, so it’s easy to reach from anywhere in Seoul. Popups typically change monthly, so check V-SQUARE’s official Instagram for what’s currently running before you go.
