What about parking in Gangnam?
- Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam — 2 hours free with buys of 30,000 won or more, 3 hours free with 50,000 won or more
- Gangnam Station public parking lot — 300 won per 5 minutes
- Central City (connected to the Express Bus Terminal) — 600 won per 10 minutes, with an underground connection to Shinsegae
Getting there: A 5-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6, so the subway is convenient. If you’re driving, the Central City lot is spacious.
What to do after the popup? Nearby route ideas
Route A (half day):
- Shinsegae popup (30–40 min) → shopping in the Express Bus Terminal underground mall (underground connection) → Sebitseom at Banpo Hangang Park (15-min walk)
Route B (full day):
- Shinsegae popup → lunch near Gangnam Station → COEX and Starfield Library (2 subway stops) → stroll through Bongeunsa Temple
Express Bus Terminal underground mall: Connected underground to Shinsegae. Clothing, accessories, and general goods — a go-to spot for budget shopping.
COEX & Starfield Library: At Samseong Station (2 stops from Gangnam Station on Line 2). Free admission. The Instagram-famous Starfield Library plus COEX Mall’s shopping, restaurants, and cinema.
Banpo Hangang Park: Moonlight Rainbow Fountain (runs at night) and Sebitseom (a great night photo spot). A 15-minute walk from Shinsegae.
Tips for visiting the Gangnam popups
- Double up on Hunter x Hunter: Visit Momori in Gangnam (9/4–16) first, then V-SQUARE in Kondae (from 9/18) — that way you catch both. Same IP, different formats, so both are worth seeing.
- Opening rush: Momori’s limited items sell out fast on opening day and the first weekend, so arrive 30 minutes before opening. Jump Shop keeps steady stock, so there’s less urgency.
- Strollers: Shinsegae is very stroller-friendly, with wide elevators and a nursing room and diaper-changing station on every floor.
- Express Bus Terminal connection: Shinsegae Gangnam connects underground to Central City at the Express Bus Terminal, so you can head straight to the underground mall after the popup.
- Meals: Try Shinsegae’s food court, or Family Town (3F) at the Express Bus Terminal. Heading toward Gangnam Station also opens up plenty of restaurant alleys.
- Banpo Hangang Park: If you’re going in the evening, time it with the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain (runs April–October, closed Mondays). A 15-minute walk from Shinsegae.
Gangnam’s popups cluster around Shinsegae Department Store, so one visit can cover several. Jump Shop runs more like a permanent fixture with less time pressure, so it’s more efficient to prioritize limited-run popups like Momori first.
